Austin Area AORN

POLICY

FIRST TIME CONGRESS ATTENDEE

 

Purpose: To encourage chapter members that have not attended and AORN Congress to participate in chapter activities.
Definition: A "first time congress attendee" is elected by the membership.

Criteria:

        A.  One (1) year active membership for the year preceding election

        B.  Attend at least seven (7) regular meetings in the previous year between August and June.

        C.  Serve on a committee or in an office the year preceding their election.

Responnsibilities:

        1.  While at Congress attend:

                    Meet the candidates sessions.

                    All house of delegates sessions.

                    All forums.

                    Austin Area meeting prior to voting to discuss candidates.

        2.  Attend education sessions

        3.  Attend social functions

        4.  Seek a mentor for the week, a chapter member or designated through AORN.
