POLICY:         Nominating Committee

 

PURPOSE:      Prepare a slate of qualified candidates for elected office/positions in the chapter.

 

DEFINITION:             Is an elected committee

 

# MEMBERS:              A chair and two (2) members

 

LENGTH OF TERM:              2 years

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Consists of at least three (3) members.

2.      Receive list from Secretary and verify elegibility of nominee to run for office or delegate.

3.      Prepare a list of nominees for the annual election annnd present this list to the Membership at least 30 days prior to the date of the election.

4.      Verify that all candidates have submitted written “consent to serve if elected”, prior to their name being placed on the ballot.

5.      Prepare a list of eligible candidates for delegate/alternate to Congress.

6.      Chairman and members serve as tellers if not on the ballot.  The President will appoint a member to fill that position as a teller for that election.

7.      The committee will elect a chairman from those persons on the committee.

8.      Must attend at least 3 committee meetings and 6 chapter meetings each year.

9.      Submit an annual report to the chapter.
