CHAPTER WORKSHOP Synthes - Austin Area AORN Cranio-Facial Trauma Symposium a Success
The Cranio-Facial Trauma Symposium was held February 23 at North Austin Medical Center. There were 58 RN’s, Surgical Technologists, PA’s and students participating in the program... I say participating because they all were able to perform plating techniques in the hands-on saw bone lab provided by Synthes CMF. There were skulls and jaws every where. Attendees also enjoyed a silent auction of Perioperative dolls and a Movie-Style Popcorn Popper. Debby Shobe RN CNOR donated the dolls and an anonymous donor via Marilyn Saathoff contributed the popcorn popper. We would like to thank our speakers Dr. Andy Quaroni and Dr. Patrick Kelly along with the Synthes CMF team for providing such an interesting and interactive program. I would also like to personally thank the committee members for all the hard work that goes into providing a workshop. Committee members include Kim Hicks, Ginger Craddock, Ginger Bussey, Marilyn Saathoff, Debby Shobe, Valerie Tedder, Dody Volcik, Carol Rawson, Nancy Carson, Loyce McCullough, & Shirley Rhoades. Thank you one and all. Renee Khalar
